Chevrolet Overhauls Line With 2012 Sonic

Gone are the days when Chevrolet defined themselves with ultra-rugged trucks and SUVs. Nowadays, the American automaker is busy redefining themselves as a premier manufacturer of more practical, yet fun-to-drive, fuel-efficient vehicles.

In 2010, we saw the first model evidencing Chevy's initiative to overhaul their car portfolio. It was none other than the Cruze, which is still going strong in its second year on the market.

For the 2012 model-year, Chevrolet is planning to add another welcome subcompact to their lineup: the all-new Sonic available as a sedan or hatch. The approachable 2012 Chevy Sonic sedan is slated to cost only $500 more than the Fiesta and $1,375 more than the Fit. The hatch model narrows the margin between the Sonic and its foreseen competitors even more.

Chevrolet's overhaul of their car portfolio won't stop with the Sonic either. The automaker doesn't expect to be done redefining their brand for another couple of years, ending with the 2013 Impala. Between now and then, [Dealer Name] expects, they'll grace showroom floors with at least one or two more all-new models.
