Chevrolet Sonic Named Top Safety Pick

There are many things to look forward to in October - apples, crisp air, cozy sweaters; and in fall 2011 - the all-new, award-winning 2012 Chevrolet Sonic. It hasn't even hit the showroom floors at Coastal Chevrolet yet, and already it's earning honorary distinctions.

The recently-named IIHS Top Safety Pick features a plethora of design elements and features aimed at proving wrong the common perception that smaller cars are less safe. Starting with the body, these include a super-durable single-welded-side-ring-unit body structure and predominantly high-strength steel roll cage. 2013 Chevy Cruze Diesel in USA

Finally, the general perception of diesels is changing in the U.S. We see this as a very good thing. For, there are many benefits that come with diesel-powered cars, especially as the margin between the price of diesel and gasoline continues to shrink. Perhaps the most critical, though, is the fact that diesel vehicles offer 40-60 percent better fuel economy compared to conventional gasoline-powered cars. This alone helps counterbalance the slightly more expensive cost of the engine itself.

With the foresight to see exactly where consumer preference will lay in coming years, Chevrolet has decided that it will bring…
