Chevrolet Brings Back 427 Engine to Commemorate Corvette

Coastal Chevrolet in Savannah, GA loves a good celebration; especially when it involves a stellar Chevrolet model. Fortunately for us, and for Chevy fans all over, both the above are currently relevant. In order to celebrate 60 years of the Chevrolet Corvette and mark the end of its current "C6" generation, Chevrolet will release two fantastic Corvette offerings.
Starting this summer, devotees of the iconic Corvette Convertible will be able to get their hands on a 60th Anniversary Package and a 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible Collector Edition. Available for any 2013 Corvette model, the anniversary bundle includes an Artic White Exterior, Blue Diamond leather-wrapped interior, ZR1-style rear spoiler, anniversary logos, optional graphics and a blue top for convertible variants.
For lovers of the legendary Corvette power, the 2013 Collector Edition brings back the 427-cubic-inch LS7 engine, this time reigning in 505 ponies and 470-lb./ft. of torque. Claimed to be the fastest of its kind to date, the 427 Convertible gallops at a remarkable speed of 0- to 60-mph in a mere 3.8-seconds. What's more the upcoming model is trimmer than ever with lightweight carbon-fiber materials that curb the convertible's weight at 3,355-lbs.
At this point you're probably thinking the Chevrolet Corvette celebration can't get any better. Well, we're happy to tell you it does. The premier Corvette 427 Convertible model will be offered up to the public at a star-studded auction come the end of January. All proceeds will then be put towards "Drive to End Hunger," a food relief program spearheaded by Rick Hendrick of Hendrick Motorsports and supported by the likes of NASCAR icon Jeff Gordon.
Though we all can't get our hands on that initial Collector Edition Corvette, Coastal Chevrolet is pleased to let you know as soon as the model and the 60th Anniversary Package arrive at 5905 Ogeechee Highway Savannah, GA 31419. In the meantime, feel free to indulge your power-hunger with any of our current Corvette offerings or other high-performing new Chevrolet models.
